Yeah, it's nuts. The far left of the Dem party had one #1 issue... the public option.
The public option is more popular than Obama, health care, or any Dem out there right now.
Between the tax on the wealthy and the 'cadillac tax', the tax on the wealthy, the liberal option, was more popular by a 2-to-1 margin.
So who do these 'centrists' really work for? I am all for centrism. But this is not real centrism, this is phony centrism. This is insularity disguised as centrism.
To take an example. Where do the bank bailouts fall on the political spectrum? Hated by the Right. Hated by the Left. Hated by the Center.
What matters isn't centrism, it's Populism! The left is populist, the right is populist, and the center is populist. Populism is the new centrism. Populism, populism, populism.

I'm a little busy right now, but will try to spend some time this weekend comparing both ACU and ADA ratings of both Senate and House members to see if there is any correlation between those ratings and the votes on the bailouts.
