We should make the first term of any officeholder be one month. That way, we can stagger the conventions and elections of party officeholders with respect to the national and regional elections. Then, we can have two month terms reelected at the beginning of every odd month. The first week of every odd month is generally a dead period, and there would be no risk of the party structure falling into disarray RIGHT before an important election.

I'd also like to state my discontent with capping the number of candidates the party can endorse. I understand that some people are worried about diluting the vote, but I think it is far more important to allow the maximum mount of people to see the spotlight in each and every election. This way, the party does not get stale and the same people won't be running over and over again.

Um... how long have we been voting on exec council?... seems like a while...

It'd probably be safe to end the voting right now, but I don't exactly know how to count the executive council election. There's a reason I've never been in charge of Atlasian elections. Tongue

I can count the President race, though, since that's just for one position, but there's a slight problem..

Purple State: Antonio, Albaleman, HappyWarrior, Thomas D, Teddy, Purple State, Ilikeverin, Sbane, Marokai, Kalwejt, Ogis.

Dr. Cynic: Hans, Hashemite, Dr. Dynic, Hawkeye59, polnut, realisticidealist, EarlAW, belgiansocialist, Sewer Socialist, Wisconsin Gurl, Winston Disraeli.

It's currently an 11-11 tie. Tongue

Don't we have 7 more members who haven't voted? It's swing vote time...

We have to run a tighter ship preferences-wise. We can't have UDL members giving eighth preferences to UDL candidates.

We could have easily won two seats if we had organized a little better before the election. It certainly wasn't feasible to get off the ground running within a day, but I'm sure we could have spared ourselves the vote for the party colors until after the elections. We would have been better served had we decided how to vote in this election beforehand.
