The Conservative Party of Canada is actually a much better fit for me than the GOP, and I could vote for them pretty enthusiastically.

By contrast, the Australian (and British) main right-wing parties seem much worse than the GOP. (I think this is maybe tied to urbanization? Or cultural distance from the United States?) Australia's electoral system would also push me to preference minor parties, just because in general I support a multi-party system and I think minor parties are good. I would probably preference the Liberals over the ALP in practice, but I wouldn't be very enthusiastic about them.
