Kamala Harris
Libby Schaaf (Mayor of Oakland)

This presents the question, which endorsements should I keep track of in the OP. Do I just stick with current members of Congress and Governors, or do I expand it out? If I expand it out what should the standard for inclusion be?

I think major politicians should be tracked, that (in my book) includes Mayors of large cities, and state party leaders. I consider Oakland to be a major city.

I'll add it.

Stick to just people who are superdelegates and maybe former governors and congress members.

I would do that if I had a complete up to date list of Super Delegates.

Not sure why, but apparently Brad Ashford endorsed Delaney.  Also, the Mayor of San Antonio endorsed Castro.

I'll add the Mayor of San Antonio.

He was a member of Congress then, but is not now, so I imagine he will not.

I'm not putting it in the tracker, but Harry Reid essentially endorsed Warren:

Huge news regarding the Nevada Caucus.

Tinia Smith (Sen), Tim Waltz (Gov) endorsed Klobuchar as did US reps Angie Craig and Dean Phillips.

The LT. Gov and Auditor of Minnesota as did the mayor of Minneapolis but I don't know if you would include them.

My bad you already added them

Here's who's going to get automatic inclusion included here (and order):

1. Governors
2. US Senators
3. US House Members
4. Statewide Elected Officials
5. Mayors of cities over 100,000

I'll add others if they are major enough to be included (former presidents, former presidential nominees, major former elected officials, etc.)

Henry Cisneros endorsed Castro.  Also, Duluth Mayor (over 200,000 people) Emily Larson has endorsed Klobuchar.

City of Duluth is only about 86,293. Metro area is over 200,000.

Got it, my bad.

No worries, I briefly got confused by that as well.

The Bernie Bros are restless on Twitter.

She’s now being labeled as “not a progressive” on twitter. As if any of them are in any position to question Barbara Lee’s progressive credentials of all people.

I saw some tweets saying "Barbara Lee is canceled."

Welch and Leahy endorse Bernie. While Welch is a pretty unsurprising endorsement, Leahy endorsed Hillary last time. This time he endorses the guy who got 4% of the vote against him in 1974.

Thanks about Leahy. I missed that.

Wow, none of the candidates so far have an endorsement from someone outside their home state.

This. People are reading way too much into the effect of home state endorsements.

In some ways its more significant to look at who hasn't endorsed someone in their state yet, like Dianne Feinstein who has essentially said she plans to endorse Joe Biden.

Wow, none of the candidates so far have an endorsement from someone outside their home state.

Cleaver D-MO endorsed Castro.
Martha Coakley endorsed Harris
Nina Turner endorsed Bernie
Former Reps Brad Ashford and Richard Hanna endorsed Delaney
Former Rep. Paul Hodes endorsed Williamson

I know wikipedia has Cleaver with an endorsement of Castro, but looking into the source they are using for that, it is from way before Castro announced he was running and it was more like "of course I'd support him" generalities. I am waiting for a more recent statement before putting him on the list.

Will be interesting to see what support in New York Gillibrand gets when she makes it official.

So Sanders gets the first out-of-state endorsement.

Well technically, that goes to Emmanuel Cleaver, who endorsed Castro a while back. That should really be added to the list.

I'll add it, but I'm not sold he was 100% to Castro.
