Wicker has to be the biggest winner here as McDaniel will probably shift to this race.

This will be held under Mississippi Special Election rules too. Jungle primary and no party labels.

There is a  Jefferson Davis County? Shameful.

Not too uncommon throughout the South. GA has a 'Jeff Davis County' (of course, we have a county named after everybody).

Forrest County is worse.

Georgia has a Jeff Davis County (really Jeff, not Jefferson), and a couple others named for Confederate generals (Bartow and Evans, I think).

Theres also Jefferson Davis Parish in SW Louisiana and Jeff Davis County in Trans Pecos Texas

Funny enough there are also Lincoln and Grant parishes which were created during reconstruction.

Bolivar just dumped, Espy up to 46.0 with that.

The only county 100% out now is Perry County (heavily R, but small).

So did Tunica.

OK, here we go. Three swing maps:

  • 1 comparing last night to 11/6/18
  • 1 comparing last night to the 2016 presidential
  • 1 comparing last night to the 2012 presidential

Should Lafayette be red for the 2012 map? Obama lost it by about 15 points, Espy lost it by .8 points.
