I assume the mid-Atlantic + Illinois will be Perez country? These are the States with the worst Democratic machines.

I hope the rest of Midwest will go for Ellison.

I expect the South to go big time for Perez as well. Unfornetly, we won't know the exact distribution with it being a secret vote.

Watching CSPAN and they are showing Pelosi at a Health Care Law Forum in San Francisco, so that's one voter not in attendance at the DNC.

Watching them struggle to use this remote control voter is something.

They are about to vote on Resolution 33, which would reinstate a ban on corporate cash.

They should.

There is some confusion now because Pelosi (Nancy's daughter) changed some of the language for Resolution 33, so now both sides want to kill the original language so they can get to debating new language, but they still have to go through all of the parliamentary rules required.

Vote on motion to strike the resolution passes. Corporate cash stays.

But didn't they want to replace it with a different resolution?

I think so.

They just didn't like the language of the resolution guys

It wasn't even clear if Unions would have been counted under this.

I'm watching the C-SPAN coverage and there are a lot more people around Keith's booth than Tom's. Some are around Jehmu's.

A lot of them probably aren't voters though.

Reporters have said that there are lot more Ellison folks in the non-voting supporters area than for other candidates.

I'm predicting a very close first ballot with Perez narrowly edging out Ellison.

Does he get the majority?

I want to know which delegation because Ellison has large Democratic states like CA, MN, OR, WA, and MI supporting. Large delegations to come out for Perez is FL, VA, and I assume MD.

At-Large, probably the mid-Atlantic states (NY, PA, NJ), MA, and CT.

Does anyone else have an irrational hatred for Jaime Harrison, or is it just me?

Agreed, but Perez's other speakers were good.

Odd that the first nomination speech for Ellison invokes HRC

Lot's of folks that endorsed Clinton in the primary endorsed Ellison.

Anyone have an updated map of the projected support for Ellison/Perez?

I think this:

Thanks!

Since I'm guessing Perez will get most of the Southern and Mid-Atlantic delegations, while Ellison will get the Western, most Midwestern, and possibly New England delegations, the state delegations I'm going to be watching for are Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Nothing to watch with it being a secret vote.

Perez just stated a goal for 57 strong state parties. LOL.
All the states and territories. What is wrong in saying that

He said the word state. And no, no one is going to make the Northern Mariana Islands or the U.S. Virgin Islands a state, sorry.

This isn't uncommon.

The crazy thing about Perez being chair is he actually never held elected office. Hes gonna need a lot of help.

Perez was on the Montgomery County Council and it is not uncommon for party officials to have little to no elected experience.

In more DNC news, Ex Mayor of Baltimore Stephanie Rawlings-Blake faced embarassing defeat for re-election to DNC Secretary to Jason Rae (who??).

I have a friend from undergrad who works at the Wisconsin Democratic Party and she's super pumped that Jason Rae won.
