Paul Begala and Chris Hayes seem to be pushing the theory that Pence was debating for himself  with an eye on 2020 (even if that means he didn't always defend Trump) , Kaine didn't care how bad he looked as long as he hurt Trump.   

So their spin seems to be Pence won and Trump lost 

MSNBC is saying essentially the same thing.

That's the most important metric in a VP debate since hardly anyone votes for the VP. 99.5% of voters vote for the President

Yikes, that's an awful number for Pence and why I think Kaine won.
