DeLay, because although he's not my favorite, he is very cunning.

But I'd still pick Kerry for senate over any of those guys just like I did in 1996.  Kerry's a fine US senator.  He'd be a lousy president, but he can pretty much have my vote any time he runs for US senate.

I think the members really need to read the job descriptions in the US constitution for US President and US Congress.  There seems to be some bizarre will among The People to apply the Peter Principle at every opportunity.  Let me make it simple for you:  A president is a cop.  That's all.  Just a glorified cop.  A senator is a lawmaker.  That's all.  Just a glorified city councilman.  Would you want a cop to be making your laws?  Now, think about that children for just a moment.  And, would you want your lawyer to be The Enforcer?  Think about that one as well.

Okay, glad we got that settled.  Now, roll over and go back to sleep.  Smiley

Ah, but what about LBJ?  I think he showed that a lawmaker can be an okay President on some things.

Making fun of the left wing of the GOP are ya?

Yeah, I'm a johnson fan and I don't care who knows it.  Me and Al Sharpton.  Chris Matthews:  "Reverend, who's your favorite modern president?"  Sharpton:  "Well, except for the War, I'd have to say Johnson.  But even in spite of the War, I still favor Johnson best."  What the hell?  There are Reagan Democrats.  Why can't there be Sharpton Republicans?

Anyway, I just mailed off my income tax refund forms, so today I'm a Reagan fan.

Or, as plutocrat extraordinaire and gun-nut Carla Howell, Libertarian candidate for US Senate (MA, 2000) used to say, "Smaller is better!"  At least till I get all my checks, and until I find myself in need of any governmnet services, I'm in accord the right wing of our party.

  Wink

Not at all, I am in the left wing of the party myself.  I like LBJ as well to some extent, that's why I brought him up.
