Unlike his predecessors, Biden's low approvals have been stable for over 2 years (since August 2021). But you go ahead and keep waiting for that big turnaround that will never come

No one is expecting a big turnaround, but it's not unreasonable to think Biden might improve enough as the election season heats up where the aggregate looks more like NPR/Marist and less like Gallup. One only has to look at 2020 where Trump's approval ratings continued to improve as the election grew closer.

Things aren't improving. And it's a uniquely Biden problem, going by Tester/Beshear approvals. For the sake of his party, he needs to drop out and end this charade.

Obama, Reagan, and Clinton had approvals like this a year before they won reelection. Chill out.
Gallup October before the election

Biden 37/59
Obama 43/49
Clinton 49/40
Reagan 49/41

Got another excuse?

Gallup now isn't the same Gallup from 10 years ago. The high quality landline polling they perfected started dying during the Obama years and was completely dead when they attempted to do a daily tracker during the Trump years.

I'm not saying Gallup isn't a decent pollster, but it's not the gold standard it once was when normal people still picked up their landlines.

Are people underrating foreign affairs as a big reason for Biden's low approval ratings?

Since he took office: the Taliban took over Afghanistan (which is when his approval ratings really tanked), Putin invaded Ukraine, Hamas attacked Israel, Venezuela's invasion of Guyana looks imminent and China has been threatening Taiwan. Frankly, the world has felt like a less stable place than it did during Trump's presidency and a lot of people probably feel uneasy because of that.

The world is less stable. The 2010s were a uniquely stable period in world history and it appears we've returned to something more akin to the 80s and 90s.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president-biden-job-approval-7320.html#polls

-17% average on RCP, which is close to his worst. And they’re not even including the Pew -31% in their aggregate.

Pew is like its own separate thing so I'm glad that they don't include it. They switched over to a monthly panel of +10,000 people in 2014. And I find that its great for public opinion on alot of issues, but a poll of 5000+ adults might not get you the most accurate results when you're trying to find the job approval of a politician. For context, Trump's job numbers were usually +10 points worse in Pew surveys compared to the aggregate and he left office with a -39%.
