Brian Sandoval would probably make more sense than Ridge.  Sandoval would put Hispanics and Nevada in play for the GOP. Although it is hard to imagine the GOP nominating a pro-choice VP.  Since it could result in a third party challenge from the religious-right.

Just like how Palin did not put women in play for the GOP, Sandoval will not put hispanics in play --although he may put Nevada in the GOP column.
