IMO Chairman should be elected by all members.

I'll strongly support term limits for party officers.

Here's my proposal.

I agree with President and Chariman stuff, but Board should consist members that would be given certain responsibilities.

For example, Secretary, to run all the records, someone for recruitment etc. etc.

Btw, I'd love to have some duties to keep myself busy.

My idea is that council should include people like Secretary, Whip etc. etc. who would have certain responsibilities.

I think though that it's maybe getting a bit too specialized for talent. Maybe if one of them needs time off that particular job for another one and wants to switch with another council member for like a week or so...

Would that be allowed or are you asking for more specific roles?

Well, I don't know if it would be better to council members to divide their responsibilities after getting onboard or just to elect officers, who would make up council.

Your thoughts, Doc?

Primaries and term limits for party officerholders, two things that failed within JCP are naturally something WE must adopt.

Anyway, this is my idea for primaries:

When there are more the one UDL candidates for an office, inter-party primary shall be held.

For offices elected at-large (President, Senate at-large seats) all members, regardless of regions, may vote.

For offices elected regionwide (Regional Senators, Governors, etc. etc.) only members registered in certain region may vote.

Also, if we establish regional chairmen, this rule should apply as well.

Since we're already campaigning Wink

I offer myself for a member of the council because:

1. My dedication to the game has already been proved. I'm a person who likes to do stuff. Do a lot of stuff Grin
2. I have an experience in developing new project, just to mention Midwest Universal Althing, and I'm pretty sure my energy and ideas can be useful right here and right now
3. In addition to experience mentioned, I have an experience in recruitment, including inviting some people to the UDL in last two days

Reassuming, I want to do stuff for the UDL, give me a chance *hughughug*

I would support limiting members of the Council to one-time reelection, and disallowing reelection altogether for President.

Yes. Rotating of responsibility will make sure we won't become a typical Atlasian party of one longtime leader/few eternal leaders.

Plus, internal vitality will benefit as well.

orange plz

Red would make us seem like an exclusively left-wing party, which we're not/shouldn't be

Well, while we're not exclusively socialist/social democratis, we're certainly left-wing party. UDL was founded to be a new left force and is called Union of the Democratic Left. Isn't that clear?

We're not doing some PMDB, for God's sake!

Wow...we have a lot of interest in the Council.

And very good. Even if I'd lose, I'd still be happy with a wonderful proces what is going on around.

Guys, regarding Senate elections, we shouldn't run more than two candidates. I really doubt we can get elected more than two.

Yes, I know there is preference system, but we're about to have more candidates than seats and if we vote only for our own members, that's not good for possible future cooperation with other parties.

Beside, someone must finally try primary system.

I really don't see why running more than two candidates would be a problem. The system prevents vote-splitting.

You're missing my point. It's irresponsible to run a candidate for almost all seats.

I still oppose this measure; though primaries may be an interesting idea, in reality, Atlasian elections are such that running more candidates can't really hurt us.

My concern isn't about chances of our candidates. It's about we should not antagonize other parties at the start, because, in Atlasia, working togehter with other parties is a reality. And I don't think running almost same number of candidates as is the number of seats is good idea.

I know your party is running plenty of candidates, but I would like to ask for whatever support and preferences you guys are willing to give. I have always and will always fight for the progressive, reformist agenda that this party supports. I have in the past worked with many if not most of you in Atlasia, both as fellow members of the JCP and in other capacities. Hopefully the Atlasian left can remain united, if not in party registration, at least in spirit and common aims and goals. Thanks.

Smiley

You certainly have my support and I urge my comrades from UDL to support progressive candidates outside UDL as well.
