Ballot

Chairman

[1] Giovanni
[2] Dallasfan65
[3] Mechaman
[ ] NOTA (Chuck Norris aka Freedom aka Jbrase)

Vice-Chairman

[1]A-bob
[2]Giovanni
[ ] NOTA (Chuck Norris aka Freedom aka Jbrase)

Voting will continue for 48 hours. Note that a vote for NOTA is not a vote for Jbrase (it's simply a gag.)

Though I do believe any of the above would make good Chairmans

Hey everyone, after some quick thought I've decided to through my hat in the race for Vice-Chairman.

As your Vice-Chairman I will be a voice for economic freedom, fiscal responsibility and social freedom. You may or may not know that yes, I am a social conservative, however I also believe social issues should be decided by local government and or left to the people to be in control themselves. Though my personal views may differ from others, I will fight for the preservation of liberties, rights, responsibilities and different ideas and views that bind us as Atlasia.

Again, I would be humbled and honored for our support as Vice-Chairman in order to work with all of you for lowered taxes, economic growth and prosperity in Atlasia so we can achieve the greatest potential we have, without the government in our way and medaling in our affairs.

A ballot cast for A-bob is a vote of preservation for OUR FREEDOM!

Well, as Chairman, the first issue I would like for us to discuss is an idea that PiT had:

The establishment of a left caucus and right caucus, and each negotiating and electing what they consider 'center libertarians.'

I do not remember the exact proposal, so I would like PiT to elaborate, if he is willing, and we should discuss it for a certain amount of time, before holding a final vote.

interesting idea. would these be like the whips of the caucus?

For reference, my idea is that each member of the caucus would have the option of joining one of two wings: left or right. To prevent infiltration, these wings would be allowed to self-police their memberships. At a regularly scheduled convention, each wing would elect two members, for four in total. These four would select three arbiters, who could be anyone in the caucus that belongs to neither wing.

Those three arbiters would serve in that capacity until the next convention. The wings would work to create proposals for caucus policy. The arbiters would vote on whether or not to adopt any proposal presented to them.

Though complicated, that's actually a really good idea. Smiley

^ does seem possible as long as the caucus stays strong

Could we have more discussion on whether to rename the wings Libertarian and Left Libertarian?

I'd like to start a vote on such a proposal tonight, but I don't think there's been sufficient discussion.

we have enough on the right for a small subcaucus

I'd like to start a vote on such a proposal tonight, but I don't think there's been sufficient discussion.

since several have now declared their intention to be on the right, and SPC has changed his declaration from "libertarian" to "left," the circumstances in which i made this proposal have changed.  i don't think the right faction should be considered more libertarian than center or left.

However, I think we should have some discussion over the idea of allowing extra sub-cauci, provided that they have enough members to permit contested elections & also only having each sub-caucus elect only one person for the selection process if there are more than two sub-cauci.

how about allowing the left and right caucus to decide their own subcaucuses?

Aye on endorsements.

Nay on one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of the past four months I've been posting on this forum.

how is this more stupid than the thread of if Tom DeLay is hot?

FYI: A-bob is a dumb troll. Inks and True Conservative have shown they are willing to work for liberty and reform. Any "Liberty" Caucus would endorse accordingly.

I thought you quit the caucus?
