God forbid that anyone express sympathy for women living in a war zone who are being targeted for abduction, rape, and who knows what else on account of their sex. WTF.

That said, this is likely just fine with Netanyahu, because he'll be pushed the second it's over and lose his immunity. He is the biggest problem Israel has here, and the sooner he's out, the better off everyone will be.

I can't pretend to understand much about Israel politics, but it's hard to see how this is even close to a guarantee. Why couldn't the polity that selected Natanyahu in a time of relative peace replace him with someone as bad or worse?

4) Going back to Biden, how is the construction of the aid pier going?  It's been almost a month since it was announced and I can't find any news about recent progress.  Have there been any other efforts to get more aid into Gaza, in particular northern Gaza?

The flotilla is on its way (it will take weeks more to arrive), but no details on operational plans have been made public. There were questions from the Senate about security a couple of weeks ago that as far as I can tell haven't been answered. And the US hasn't found an aid group to help with distribution, which is essential to meeting Biden's promise of "no boots on the ground."

In the meantime, CENTCOM has been posting almost daily updates about airdrops delivered in cooperation with the Jordanian Air Force.

The tweet is just direct quotations from a piece written by a couple of NYT correspondents. Which is a weird way to share an important piece of journalism covering details of a process that most Americans know little about, to be fair, but Atlas can't seem to lay aside the assumption that Twitter is "what's happening"
