Seems like Hosemann would be the one he appoints, though Hyde-Smith would be Mississippi's first female senator. Not sure if that would factor in Bryant's decision or not, but it's worth noting.

Mississippi is the only state in the Union that has never elected a woman to either chamber of Congress or to the governor's mansion. That could change even if Cindy Hyde-Smith doesn't get appointed because of the open House race in MS-03.

I think it'll be Hyde-Smith, what's the point in replacing an old-timer with another old-timer in Hosemann.
