Well, as someone with large amounts of Irish ancestry, I'll go with the obvious: Hell No (I/O, Sane, Normal, Anti-Dumb).
Oh what? Were you expecting some sentimental post about how I loved and respected America dearly because the nation was formed in rebellion against the genocidal land stealing bastards who forced my ancestors into generations of poverty, debt slavery, famine, and subhuman status? Yeah, f*** that. Why?
Because thus far the story, the tale, the narrative is just going the same old song and dance. Sure it is nice for us to imagine, to dream that the story of this country is an idealistic one of free men, of free people, of democracy for everyone and everything or whatever. Instead, just like as it has been for centuries, the story of America is one of mass exploitation and violence perpetuated continually to allow the continued dominance of the Landed Interests (yes, I am doing this bit again) over the common people. And the very act of "patriotism", the love of the "country" is little more than religious praise of the concept of a the coercive institution of government that allows such a villainous monstrosity to exist.
So yes, on principle alone, a decisive Hell No here.
