What rock groups came out for Reagan in 80? Or 84?

I actually remember those elections. Popular musicians as a rule didn't endorse candidates then (as opposed to aging hippie folkies). Not even the usual suspects like Bono, Springstein and Mellencamp. And back then Republican rock stars--even freakin' Ted Nugent!--were almost unknown.

For that matter, what other 80's rock stars are coming out for Romney?

Chances are a lot of hair metal bands voted Republican.

Oh yes, the bands whose entire purpose in existing was to protest the extreme bible thumping of moralists in the 80's courted by the Republican Party would've heavily voted Reagan? (cos God knows they weren't good at music)
[/scene of a whole bar room laughing]

Though, it does make sense that Reagan didn't go hoorah on the whole "war on drugs" until after 1984.  Hmm. . . . .  .interesting theory.
