A generic Republican candidate now beats Obama 47% to 39% (Gallup Poll). I know it's early, and I'm not extrapolating this to 2012 just yet, but it does show that the GOP is far from dead.
I hate over reactionary posts like this.
In 2008 the Republican party was deemed dead. Look what happened in 2010. Dead? Yeah, ok.
The only reactionaries here are the the Republican fanboys who think that because they control one House of the US Congress that they are on their way to beat Obama. That couldn't be further from the truth as Obama is on their prowl like a hunter in the Serengeti on a wounded cheetah. What you can't accept is that Obama stands for progress and reform against the corporatatisthatemonger views of the Grand Old People's Party. Obama has got the political goods, he is unbeatable. He is the most invincible and charismatic leader since FDR bar none. 2008 was a major realignment in American politics that shifted every state in this nation towards a more positive message. Change is good and Obama exhibits that change to the fullest extent. When the history books are written of this next decade it won't be of the Republican Party taking back the nation, but rather falling in on their own swords before the progressive Obama onslaught.
2010 was very much a pyrrhic victory. The Democrats and Obama let it happen so they can show the nation one last time why it's a bad idea to let the Republifascist party run the nation. They are all out in the open now before the people who will vote them out of office in 2012 in record numbers. You might as well give up now, Bush**te.
