Okay, I'll join. Smiley Though I have to disagree with you on some social issues, I do agree with a large part of your message.

Why? Didn't you vote against the Reasonable Military Funding Act? Aren't you generally a populist, our political opposite? I hate to propose a litmus test - I think we ought to go out of our way to attract members of the libertarian left - but you definitely seem out of place.
I certainly hope this isn't going to become a doctrinaire "libertarian left" outfit. That's not what I understood from the introductory post.

Oh no, if you genuinely believe in the cause of liberty (ie against government encroachment on civil liberties) you should be allowed in. Your PM score might be of some concern, but Useful Idiot also has a weird PM score and I would gladly let him join so I figure why not? There is no such thing as a perfectly legit libertarian party, if we used dogmatism to dictate who we accept into this caucus we would get nowhere. We must find someway to create a big tent organization of liberty leaners. Tmthforu is a very nice kid who while I may disagree with some of his views I view it as a supporter of the non-aggression principle to allow him into this club, because chances are he feels a calling in his heart to hear the message of liberty and change some of his nonliberty views. Welcome to the club.

To those of you who feel like I've been a douche in the past, I apologize. Believe me when I say that in this caucus (as well as in the Populares) I don't want to strike up any more animosities or divide this movement anymore than it might be already.
And while I will accept nominations for Chairman or Vice Chairman, I would like to take this time to nominate Dallasfan (who created this caucus in the first place) for the Chairmanship and Giovanni for the Vice Chairmanship.

Ah, you mean there aren't a thousand-and-one other generically orthodox right-"libertarian" factions for you to join?

But no matter. We don't seek to tear your monopoly of libertarian rhetoric from your hands, but merely to challenge it. Hence I will be forming a sub-caucus faction ala Labour Left/Right, together with Govanni, Mechaman, SewerSocialist, and all other comers. We will be making policy recommendations from our perspective for your perusal.

Sounds a bit divisive.
The dialogue would be healthy for the Caucus.

I agree.
The sooner we can destroy the "No True Scotsman" attitude amongst some of our posters the better.

Sorry I have views.

You keep your views, but don't go around parading them as the only way. That is what I mean by "No True Scotsman". What I have found most irritating (now I'm not saying I'm not guilty, in fact I'm guilty as hell of committing this) is the amount of forumers who have taken up an ideology and have committed that anyone else who follows said ideology must have their same views or else they're fakes.
Example: Poster A: No true Scotsman likes sugar. Poster B: Well Angus is a Scotsman and he likes sugar. Poster A: Well then he is not a true Scotsman.
Do you get where I'm coming from now?

Children this is getting ridiculous. I go to sleep and I wake up and find 6 pages of intercaucus bitching.

I propose we start again and come up with some litmus test for getting in.

I oppose this motion.
As a hardcore adherent to the non-aggression principle I oppose such measures. The fact that members like Daniel Adams or Tmthforu have joined says more about their potential for liberty than any current antithetical ideas they have towards it. We should embrace such members with open arms, they are willing to listen to the message of liberty and thus they must be welcomed.
And yes, that includes Sewer Socialist also.

The difference is that Tmthforu and Daniel Adams joined in earnest with good intentions. Sewer Socialist has done absolutely nothing since coming into this thread besides bitching and trolling along with attacking the caucus and its members.

However, based on my adherence to the nonaggression principle I oppose any measures to remove him from this caucus.

Please quit with the attacks, you two.

Yes, this is quite pathetic.
Whatever qualms I have with this whole subcaucus thing, I believe that according to the principle of nonaggression we can't force our views on others. If the members deem that subcaucuses are necessary, let them be.
