Australia Day was a day people used to get together and celebrate the country. My suburb does not celebrate it anymore.

Which is good in one way, because I get a public holiday and the pool will be open.

The Australian Open Tennis does not recognise Australia Day, nor does the Cricket Test in Brisbane against the West Indies today.

The only rallies in Australia today will be Palestinians and Aboriginals sharing a protest or two:

I'm sorry to hear your national holiday has been cancelled in your suburb. Happy imaginary-Australia-Day-but-really-just-a-public-holiday to you then.
