Because long term, they were also the bad guys. Can't view them as "good" if they wanna destroy your very system of governance and economic model.

However, 27 million is a huge amount and I do wish that it could have been way less (Stalin is an evil bastard) and I know that it isn't a thing to gloat at. Their sacrifice did bring down (partially of course) the Nazi regime. I can at least respect that.
