Remember that the root cause of all Republican lies about the vaccine is that Trump wants the pandemic to continue claiming lives so his presidency doesn't look so bad relative to Biden's.

A lot of the anti-vaccine rhetoric is pushed for political reasons. Republicans want more people to die so they can blame Biden and have a talking point for the midterm election. If more people dead can get them more seats in Congress then they are all for it.

The problem with that logic is most of those dying now are either Republicans or non voters.

Yeah, but an extra 100,000 deaths (so let's assume 1/3 of them vote in the midterms, 80-20 Republican) could cost Republicans 20,000 of those votes, but the perception that Biden is doing a bad job at controlling COVID might flip more voters from Democrats to Republican.

Plus, it keeps Trump happy and not personally attacking the politicians and media personalities who might otherwise encourage vaccination.

Wrong answer to the wrong question. The fact is, wanting facebook is « nice » or not is somewhere between naive and irrelevant. Simply allowing an unaccountable private corporation to have so much power and influence over what information we have access to is a threat to democracy

I don't care if they're "nice," but if they're going to host deadly disinformation on their website, I'm going to have an extremely negative opinion of them.
