From what I can piece together, he applied for another job and listed his current* employer as a reference. The prospective employer called the current* employer, the current* employer flipped out that he was looking for a new job and fired him on the spot. Then to add insult to injury, he didn't get the prospective job either.

Lief is right, I am still waiting on the prospective job.  I should know either this week or next week.

Ah, my mistake. I hope you are still sendout out lots CADD resumes anyway, because as you have seen first-hand, in this day and age anyone is going to have a pretty low success rate on putting in applications.

Why can't you just accept the fact that I finished school and got a 78% on my classes?

I can't speak for anyone else, and I'm not necessarily saying you're lying/withholding some of the truth, but surely you can see how something smells fishy about this to an outside observer?
