Didn't atlas bully that one kid with the native american scandal
So people saying mean things on a forum about somebody who likely will never see those somehow justifies a US congressman bullying somebody completely unrelated to that behavior?
It points out a very real double standard. Many people here are fine with bullying others, and they get away with it. And you ought to acknowledge that. These posters were fine with the entire force of the media coming down on a 17 year old kid on a school trip whose biggest sin was that he wore a MAGA hat.
It IS different when a US Representative does what he does to an anonymous person as this young woman. It is meanness, and meanness to no constructive end at that. Gaetz should have shut up here, as this is an ordinary person. But there were powerful people who bullied Nick Sandmann far more cruelly. A Disney producer expressed the desire to run him through the Woodchipper. Kathy Griffin called for his doxxing and ruining him to where he'd never be able to get a job. That's just a few. Nick Sandmann was demonized literally around the World, and there are posters here that, to this day, are just fine with that (yet they get to continue posting and continue to be rated FFs).
None of that detracts from the meanness of what Gaetz said. Maybe it was extreme thoughtlessness, but he's expected to be better than this, and that's a low bar. A lot of unproven allegations have been made against Gaetz, and they remain unproven to this date. They should not be made, either, until there is actual proof, and not just unsubstantiated statements. But I have far less sympathy for Gaetz now then I did before this (assuming that the buzz about him is not true; that story goes on).
Always good to see the usual Suspects rush to whatabout a pedophile picking on a teenager.
