Trump wasn't an elected official when he ran for President the first time and that certainly didn't stop them from talking about him incessantly.
Trump had been a household name and pop culture punchline for decades though, alongside having an equally long love-hate relationship with the media. He’s perfect bait for their attention. I don’t see Williamson being anywhere close to that even if she was well known to Oprah viewers or whomever.
