I don't feel knowledgeable enough to casually dismiss the objection that many economists put forward against price control measures in this area as I would do, say, with regard to the minimum wage. Besides, I do believe that the most effective way to ensure universal access to housing is for the State to directly build, purchase or even confiscate housing units and rent them directly to low-income families at below-market rates (or possibly even for free).
