That assumes that he can be re-elected and that he will not resign.

Unlike most people in high positions of responsibility he has no tendency to learn from his mistakes and the belief that his formal power shields him from any personal consequences.

The "Russian connection" scandal will go to the back burner when the story gets dull -- but the prosecutors will not be talking about it to the media. They will wait until they can use their collected knowledge in a criminal court or use it to badger him to resign. But President Trump is likely to see himself charmed.
