I am about to put a new troll on the Ignore list. Anyone who has this tagline
Liberalism is the enemy of freedom and must be exposed and destroyed at all costs.
probably has a fetish for brown clothing, twisted crosses, and stiff-arm salutes.
The diametric opposite of liberalism is... fascism.
LOL
Liberalism and fascism are interchangable.
All that liberalism and fascism have in common is a shared disdain for Communism.
Otherwise:
1. Liberalism is internationalist. It recognizes that people can have much in common despite cultural and religious differences. Fascism is invariably chauvinist in its nationalism, often denying the humanity of people of other nations even when the differences are slight.
An American, Indian, Indonesian, or Japanese liberal believe in much the same on how to organize society despite sharp contrasts of culture but would recognize the differences between them as harmless. American, Indian, Indonesian, and Japanese fascists would show solidarity with each other only as partners in crime. Even where cultural differences are slight, fascists can turn on each other quickly. Nazis quickly suppressed any Polish fascists during World War II and would have exterminated any Yiddish-speaking Jewish fascists.
2. Liberalism recognizes the need for restraint on the means of repression. Fascists recognize no such need.
3. Liberalism recognizes the need for constitutional government as opposed to despotism or oligarchy. Fascism is either despotism or oligarchy.
4. Liberals stand for religious liberty. Fascism subordinates religion to the Nation.
5. Liberalism has pacifism as an ideal. Fascism is extreme in its militarism. Liberal states never attack each other, but fascist states can turn on each other.
6. Liberalism recognizes the right of workers to organize for higher wages and better working conditions. Fascism ordinarily uses the power of the State to degrade working people on behalf of employers.
7. Liberalism recognizes the need for a free press. Fascism destroys all independence in the media.
8. Liberalism is the political result of centuries of rational inquiry and pragmatic conduct. Fascism is the subordination of reason to the Will of the Leader.
9. Liberals believe in largely-free markets with consumer choice. Fascism replaces economic competition with command.
