In addition to all the things pushing the Cubans to the right, I think some of it might just be generational turnover. What was a big Greatest+Silent Generation population in Florida is now a Boomer population, and specifically one that has watched Florida over the last couple decades and thought "yes, gimme some of that."

If you count early retirees (Long Island cops and firefighters for instance), we are starting to get an influx of Gen Xers too.

Even Chris Christie (lol) just said on ABC that Walker is in "big trouble" if he keeps trailing Kemp by such large margins, predicts 47-48% of the vote right now.

The crazy trends in Hispanic parts of Florida have me really excited for South Texas. I already had Flores and De La Cruz predicted to win, but now I'm thinking we could knock out Cuellar too.

Miami-Dade is ground zero for what happens when disinformation campaigns are allowed to materialize among racial minorities without any pushback, the alt-right media and the proud boys effectively taking control of the Miami-Dade GOP is literally a massive red flag for anyone who values democracy and civil politics.

Very interesting how CNN is making sure to label every Republican possible as "election denier" yet they refuse to do so for Stacey Abrams.

CNN is more interested in the identity categories of the candidates than in actually providing results.

I remember when some people pretended WA-SEN, CO-SEN, NH-SEN, and NY-GOV would all be competitive races, and some especially smug "red wave" posters thought it was inevitable they'd all be closer than WI-SEN/GOV for example.

NY-GOV might be one race where the GOP isn't underperforming expectations by that much. It looks to be single digit. Zeldin is still probably giving the GOP 3/4 extra house seats.

8.5 point margin and still almost nothing from Suffolk. This one could get close.

I thought inflation and the economy was going to dominate this election, even over abortion.  How did you Republicans screw things up so badly?  

I wonder if passing the Inflation Reduction Act helped.

No one except the most inveterate partisan hacks and people with fewer than two brain cells was dumb enough to think the Inflation Creation Act actually did anything to reduce inflation. What tonight means is that abortion and extreme GOP candidates were a far more salient concern than most people realized.

In 2020, Tom Mcclintock, the Republican won this area 54 to 45.

30 percent of the vote is in. When 30 percent of the vote was in in VA in 2020, Trump was leading by double digits. Can you stop spamming the same thing over and over and over when nothing has changed?

California ballot measures, especially dialysis, suggest something weird is up with the vote that's been reported so far. Not saying there's gonna be an R surge, in fact the statewide results for things other than ballot measures seem pretty reasonable so far, just that this is not how Californians normally vote on ballot measures.

NY-GOV is gonna be within 6 points isn't it? I did not expect it to actually be this close.

Definitely an underwhelming night for the GOP, although I still think Nevada will be a bit of a bloodbath.
