He should've appointed a placeholder and leave Republican voters to decide who will be the person  they want to defend this seat.
Appointing a loser only a few weeks after she lost, is indeed a huge middle finger to the electorate.

Why people are so excited for Kelly? He has never ran for anything, so it's totally unknown if he is actually good at all this campaigning thing.

Kelly also endorsed PAT TOOMEY in a crucial Senate race.

I think that was Giffords anti-gun PAC, not Kelly himself.
