Not really unless your name is Corey Stewart.

Or Donald Trump.
Or Roy Moore.
Or Steve King.
Or Louie Gohmert.
Or Joe Arpaio.

Aren't MS special elections non-partisan?

I think that's for state elections. Federal elections are not.

Jim Hood should run if Cochran resigns. No reason not to.

Yes there is a reason. He wants to run for governor.

What's that obsession of Republican leaders with Bryant appointing himself?
It's not like Mississippi is a state where it's extremely difficult to find a qualified GOPer to hold down a senate seat.

Politico is reporting that McConnell wants Bryant to appoint himself.

That's old news. It was mentioned that Bryant was not interested at all.

If Pressley doesn't run, I think Espy would be solid against McDaniel, he's giving me Doug Jones vibes.

*clapping* Doug Jones didn't win, Roy Moore lost

And Ralph Northam didn't win, Ed Gillespie lost. And tomorrow it won't be Conor Lamb who would have wom but Rick Saccone who would have lost.
Democrats never win, it's the Republicans who lose.

You're delusional if you don't believe Roy Moore was the reason that seat was lost. It was 100% him. Literally ANY other Republican would have won easily.

Well, corrupt Luther Strange probably would have lost as well, and let’s not forget that Trump’s approval rating among the voters who turned out in the December election was pretty terrible.

But yeah, Moore and Strange were by far the worst Republican candidates.
Strange would have won against Jones.

September polls showed him losing to Jones.

Strange would have beat Jones like 60-36

Do you even read other people's posts?

There were no September polls that showed Jones beating Strange.  The only polls that had Jones winning against Strange came out after the Moore allegations, which substantially cut Republican enthusiasm (and that would have been felt in match-ups featuring Strange as well).

Or perhaps it was because Strange was also a scandal-tarred candidate who would have a hard time winning, and certainly not with the ridiculous margin you mentioned.

Hasn't Hosemann declared privately that he wants to run for LG?

Mississippi never elected a woman neither for congress, nor for governor.
Let's keep that in mind.

He's liked several Twitter pleas for him to run. I don't think you do that if you really aren't interested.

Maybe he likes the attention. It's not like Trump is the only narcissist in American politics.

Still, McDaniel will get to prance around and define her by telling people that she voted for Obummer or Killary.

Obama and Clinton together got only 98% of the vote in the primary.  Maybe she was one of the other 2%. Smiley

Yeah, what the hell is Espy doing? I haven't heard anything about him since he declared.

Apparently he and Amanda Renteria have the same campaign manager.

Lol this isn't even remotely racist.
This will be just like Cramer's "Akin comments" that Atlas told me would guarantee Heitkamp an easy re-election.

I doubt anyone said that in the age of Trump. You Republicans celebrate sexual abuse now.

DeSoto seems to start behaving like all other suburban counties.
