Gallup, 12/4

Approve 35 (nc)
Disapprove 60 (nc)

So I guess his latest dip wasn't some bad daily sample.

What kind of a tool you must be if you're a Trump-approving Muslim.

Yeah, after a long period where Trump had stabilized at around 37-38% of approval he seems to have slipped a bit more. His slow-motion descend continues.

Great poll for Trump. https://www.publicpolicypolling.com/polls/colorado-political-landscape/

Only -20 in approval in Colorado, a state with a disproportionate amount of Latinos and college educated whites, not to mention that he lost it by 5 points. He should be down by much more, but this suggests his national approval rating is only about -13 or so, and rising.

So what part of Russia do you live in? Is it nice?

He can't say. His basement has no windows.

This.

I have said from the start that Trump is just the GOP version of Jimmy Carter. He is never going to be a transformative president that LBJ, Reagan, hell even Obama were.

If he doesn't resigned, he is going to lose in a massive landslide in 2020.

Yup, many people said that Obama was Democrats' Nixon, a guy who took the party out of a long wilderness and showed a new way to win. It makes sense in more ways than one that Trump is the Republicans' Carter (which is of course a grave insult for the latter who is a remarkable human being).

Interesting tidbit here: When Democrats run commericals about the GOP tax plan and how the GOP plans to cut Medicare/Medicaid/Welfare....the Democratic midterm advantage goes from +11% to +17%:

GOP is done!

An advertising firm produces a poll that shows their advertising works brilliantly!
How surprising.

I think Trump will get a bump may take a few days but he might get back into the 42-45% range.

This was the most unpopular tax plan in the history of polling (According to FiveThirtyEight). Only 33% of Americans support it and CNN had an article about it becoming even less popular by the day. There will be no bump. Are you LimoLiberal's sock puppet?
Well, they're both concern trolls from Virginia...

Henster was a Bernie bro last year, IIRC.

http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/data/popularity.php?pres=45&sort=time&direct=DESC&Submit=DISPLAY

Recently came across this

Trump's ratings aren't so bad as some media try to portray as "the lowest in history of such ratings". If you look at ratings of Bush 43 during the most of his 2nd term or Nixon's during Watergate there have been more or less worse numbers for previous presidents (for ex. Jimmy Carter had in the midst of 1979 below 30% rating for this short time).

They are the worst ever at this point of a presidency.

That is true. He never hit 50% of approval rating, started his term with 45% only. That is really low.

But my intention in the post above was to put this thing in a slightly smaller picture, because when I heard several times that Trump's numbers are the lowest on the record, I was not thinking that this statement on his ratings includes a certain point of a presidency. This evening I continued reading a book about Jimmy Carter, and there was some informations that Carter had in some time under 30's rating, and after that I started to search the Internet to see ratings of other past presidents and that is how I came up with my post above.

Carter fell under the 30s during the oil crisis and the Iran hostage crisis. Trump is already in the 30s without having faced a crisis that wasn't of his own making, and a booming economy to boot.

That's how the electoral college works, because we're a Republic. The people in Wyoming need as much say as Californians, otherwise it really is "tyranny of the majority".

Actually the people of Wyoming have 3.6 times more say than the people of California, so this has become the tyranny of the minority.

Not when California has 67 people for every one in Wyoming.

Um, do you understand what I said or is it too much for you to process?

Yes, but it's supposed to be a balance.  The weight of a number of votes in heavily populated states vs people's wants getting ignored in sparsely populated ones.  If we were on pure vote count, why should people in Wyoming or Delaware or Rhode Island even bother voting in a national election? The electoral college isn't perfect and maybe we could tweak it some, but it's still better than just a raw count.

Every other Western democracy uses popular vote and they are doing just fine, thank you.

Wrong again, many don't even have an election for head of state: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_electoral_systems_by_country#/media/File:Electoral_systems_for_heads_of_state_map.svg

... Perhaps because those countries have a head of state that's merely symbolic and the true power is held by the Prime Minister, which is indirectly elected through parliamentary elections...

So same thing, no popular vote for the figurehead or PM.  Or that matter, the head of the EU.

Obviously you have no idea what you're talking about. Have you considered to pursue a career as a Breitbart columnist?

Hmm, feeling's mutual. Perhaps you run Occupy Democrats?

Trust me, it's not. I know very well how the American electoral system works.
You on the other hand know jacksh**t of how European democracies elect their leaders.

The Democratic party may realize too late that Kamala Harris is not the best candidate to win working class whites in the midwest.

The guy who considers everybody to the right of Lenin a fascist is suddenly concerned about a candidate's appeal to Joe Sixpack from Redneckville, Missouri.

This. I don't get why leftists and Bernie bros are so concerned about winning working class white Trump voters when they're the ones okay with racism and a capitalist country... yet all these leftists never say sh**t about appealing to working class people of color and working class democrats who probably want to see a more socialized society.

Well, Bernie in 2016 did best with whites and white states (NH, MI, WI, OR), while Hillary crushed among blacks, the southern states basically giving her an insurmountable delegate lead.

I suppose the desire to reach out to WCW comes from a combination of the fact that they voted for the more socialist candidate in the primary, and the fact that Trump barely skimmed by with PA, MI and WI, and the idea that appealing to just a bit more would be the recipe for victory in those areas. Of course, you could also argue that increased minority turnout would do the same trick.

If Bernie bros really believe that the WWC who voted for Sanders in West Virginia, Oklahoma and Kentucky did it because they are socialism-curious, then they are even bigger suckers than I ever thought.

Gallup, 12/29

Approve 38 (nc)
Disapprove 56 (-1)

Not sure how he loses reelection with this tax reform bump we're seeing.

Only if ACORN and La Raza stuff the ballot boxes and bus in Mexicans and Kenyans.
