How's the prop. in California doing that's supposed to repeal their Global Warming law?

Down in flames, and the simple majority Prop. passed, but Californians voted crappy on the other ones. Well, I guess since Democrats are stupid, they threw away their ability to gerrymander in California. Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, Texas, and so on can all have mass Republican gerrymanders again. Yeah, that's really fair.

Florida passed a similar initiative, so Republicans disarmed themselves there.
Perhaps the people all across the country got sick enough will all those ridiculously gerrymandered districts.

If Kitzhaber wins the remaining Multnomah votes by the same 70-28 margin and the remaining precincts have as many votes as the reporting ones, that would be a net gain of about 41,000 votes for him... enough to put him over the top. We can sure hope.

Nate Silver projects an 1,5 point win for Kitzhaber.

When has a governor as unpopular as Quinn ever won re-election?

The devil we know seems to be less dangerous.

Tell what you want about Quinn but the guy is a real survivor.

I wouldn't read too much into an election between a nobody that people hate for good reason and a somebody that people hate for good reason. Someone had to win it.

Meanwhile, Republicans easily won the governor's race and picked up NV-03. So.

I thought you guys said that Angle made herself acceptable thanks to her performance at the debate with Reid. Now she became a nobody again?
Talk about moving the goalposts.

Apparently there is an error at New Haven.
If we are to believe AP, there were 26000 votes for senator but only 9000 for governor. Obviously that's impossible, hence the confusion.

FWIW, Debicella conceded to Himes even though he is leading with 84% of the vote in. I guess that means something.

The secretary of state is going to be announcing the winner in 10 minutes, and from what I have heard, foley picked up quite a bit of votes. Looks like she is going to reverse it.

You mean Malloy. He is 5000 votes ahead with only 10 precincts from Bridgeport remaining.

No, I meant foley. It sounds like he might be leading by a little over 2 thousand votes.

I don't know where you get your informations from.

http://www.courant.com/news/politics/hc-ct-governor-election-results-1105-20101104,0,7073133.story

And as I mentioned there are only 10 precincts left at Bridgeport. Do you think they will put Foley back on top?

I'm getting my information from someone that isn't with a newspaper. That's all I'm going to say

Because if you say more then you'll have to kill me.

Ah, Bridgeport.  They must not have enough ballots to put Malloy over the top.  Time to find some new ones!

How predictable.

Uhhh...
Malloy is already ahead without a single vote from Bridgeport counted.

Uhhhh....

Malloy is BEHIND by 8,409 votes without a single vote from Bridgeport counted.

That result was due to glitch from AP which undereported New Haven. When AP fixed the mistake, Malloy surged ahead by 6000 votes. That's the official tally now.

It's over (finally!) in Connecticut.

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/articles/2010/11/05/conn_governor_election_inching_toward_resolution/

Dan Malloy has defeated Republican Tom Foley to become the first Democrat in two decades to be elected governor of Connecticut.

The Associated Press on Friday reinstated its call of Malloy as the winner of the governor's race. The AP initially called Malloy the winner on Wednesday, after Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz said her preliminary count showed Malloy had won by 3,103 votes. The AP withdrew the call Wednesday night when its vote count, with all but a handful of precincts reporting, showed Foley with a narrow lead.

The AP received a complete report of results from heavily Democratic New Haven on Thursday, which substantially boosted Malloy's total, as did new vote totals from heavily Democratic Bridgeport on Friday. The AP's complete but unofficial count shows Malloy winning by 7,762 votes. A separate complete count now posted on the secretary of the state's website shows Malloy winning by 5,644 votes. Both margins are well outside the difference that would trigger an automatic recount under state law.

Harris is up to about a 31,500 vote margin.

I wonder if Cooley will sue for a recount.

There is still about 700,000 votes to count after the liberal sinkhole of Alameda put Harris over the top.

Harris won even San Diego and there are still many votes from LA. Hard to see how Cooley wins.

http://vote.sos.ca.gov/maps/attorney-general/ Harris is no where close to beating Cooley in San Diego.

She beat him in the last batch of votes counted.

Even if all of Emmer's challenges are successful, he will still be roughly 8000 votes behind. So on what grounds will he sue?
And even then isn't it more likely than not that the courts will throw out his lawsuit as frivolous?

What happens if Grisanti, a registered Democrat, switches or accepts to vote for a Dem gerrymander and there is a 31-31 tie?
