I'm really interested in this race, so let's have a discussion. Smiley

So what do you think of Bunning's chances of retirement are? Mongiardo says if he decides to run, he expects Bunning to wimp out and do it. Pretty bold.

And Bunning's also been MIA for the past while, but whether that's relavent or not, I dunno. Anyway, if Mongiardo runs again against Bunning, I'd say it's toss-up for now purely because of incumbency, but if Bunning does bow out, I'd give the edge to Mongiardo against a generic R...

More inside the article. I think Republicans are feeling really bad about this seat, even Cornyn didn't give a straight answer when asked if Bunning was the best candidate.

I can not believe Cornyn couldn't even have Bunning retire to "spend more time with the family".

The people in the comment section don't seem to happy with him though, but they're only like 10 people out of so many.

After nary a peep in months from the office of Dem Rep. Ben Chandler on the subject of a potential challenge to GOP crumb-bum extraordinaire Jim Bunning, Chandler tells the AP that he's considering making a bid after receiving encouragement from the DSCC. He's even gone so far as to meet with Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear on Friday to discuss his potential run.

His district would probably lean Republican unless a blue dog emerges(and one probably will).

That's Lexington. A Democrat is going to win that.
For reals? Smiley Good to know. Mongiardo kinda bores me, anyway.

Aw. At least Mongiardo will have his Lieutenant-Governor job but I kinda feel bad for him now. Sad I would sympathy vote for him. Unless it's close, I dunno.

Early Obama supporter from Kentucky that can actually win = please run! Smiley I don't want another Mark Pryor or Blanche Lincoln in there just to side with the Republicans against him.

"I need your support to offset Lexington, Louisville and some other people who don't think like we do in Northern Kentucky," said Bunning.
The Cincinnati suburbs are the real Kentucky.

Just chill. Democrats already have some of their top-tier candidates running anyway.
