From https://twitter.com/alexoimas/status/1320079972116107264:

Quote
Just cast my early vote in the outskirts of Philadelphia County, PA. It was...kind of jarring.

If you have option of *early voting*, do it!! If my experience was at all representative, Nov 3rd may be insane.

I arrived just as polling place opened. Short line. Thought I'd be in and out in 20 minutes tops. Even w/ this short line, it took 2+ hours.

About 10 minutes into me waiting in line, the first Semi started up the residential road adjacent to voting line. It started honking.

hen the next Semi followed, then the 3rd. A motorcade of Semis, jeeps, and a few sedans drove down the road. All honking. All flying Trump 2020 flags. With people yelling out the window.

This motorcade snaked around the polling place the entire time I was there (2 hrs)

Let me just say that a line of Semis honking at the same time is *LOUD*. Listening to this for hours is jarring.

Election officials, who were extremely professional, could not give instructions to people in line because no one could hear them. People covered their ears.

At some point the people in line started yelling at the trucks. Some of which stopped, and started yelling back. There were enough police/officials to keep things from escalating.

But all this being said: There is no telling what Nov 3 is going to be like. Vote early!

Surprised those cops didn’t charge them with public disturbance, but then again I’m sure they’re on the same side, so.

Does anyone remember Election Day in 2017 when Virginia politicos were saying Northam was up *so much* in the early morning, and then by noon it got really close and could go any way, and everyone was freaking out?

Then Northam won by almost 10 points?

This next week is going to feel like an extended version of that freak out.

Remember? I was there. I was there when Limoliberal had his infamous “rain in NoVa” post

Good. So no freaking out and let people vote. You don’t know who’s voting for who so having panic attacks only hurts yourself.

How does Target Smart have youth vote down 42% compared to the 2016 early vote in PA when the early vote in that state in 2016 was predominantly old?

Make it make sense

Does anybody know for Wisconsin if early-in person voters are released on election night right away or treated as mail in and must be matched and verified starting at 7am?

I believe all votes (mail, early and Election Day) will be released at the same time for municipalities in Wisconsin.

I believe all votes (mail, early and Election Day) will be released at the same time for municipalities in Wisconsin.

With the exception of 38 entities that count their absentees in a central place.

Milwaukee is one of those places right? So the absentee ballots will be counted and released separate from the election day vote?

One thing I think worth just noting about Florida is since there were a lot of Dixiecrats switching over to Republicans since 2016, the Dems voting now are more reliable Biden votes than they were Clinton votes 4 years ago. It could make a small difference.

It seems like at the current pace + a bit of an Election Day bump, Democrats will hit 80% turnout.  Do Florida experts think this is enough?

It would definitely be better than their 2016 turnout, and with less registered Dixiecrats, they will be more reliable Biden votes. Just gotta put faith in the NPAs

I know alot of people were freaking out about Florida yesterday especially Miami Dade but aren't there alot of ancestral republican Hispanics who vote D there now? Kind of like reverse applachia.

There’s some fear that they’re Clinton -> Trump voters.

Why are CA, UT and NJ lagging so far behind other all-Mail states ?

I thought these states have sent mail ballots to all registered voters too this year ?

California did mail a ballot to all voters but it also has in person voting on Tuesday.

So what we’re not going to do is complain about and blame young people for an election result that hasn’t happened yet.

AL and MS have no in person early voting and have pretty strict absentee rules (though AL seems stricter). Only if you’ll be absent on Election Day, if you’re sick, disabled, a senior, basically.

Democrats are at 66% turnout in Florida.

Hopefully with Miami-Dade and Sarasota along with VBM arrivals, they can get to 68ish.

From a UK perspective I feel sorry for the American people.  A choice between Trump or Biden. What the hell has happened to the USA

lol your country elected Boris Johnson.
