Report on Break the Chains ActThe Department of the Interior feels that this bill is a step in the right direction, but the major problem is that the bill was actually more effective in it's original form. Although maybe somewhere in between the original and the final bill would have been the correct approach, I cannot help but feel that this is not strong enough to be of any major consequence.
While in the short term, the bill will raise costs for business and may thus cause growth to slow somewhat, in the long term, this bill will diversify the economy and declaw the centralisation that has occured within this country's economy for the past century. However, there must be much more emphasis on decentralisation and on small dynamic business in the future.
The Department of the Interior feels that Bacon King's proposed amendment was the best version of the bill.
