I used to be in the camp that thought Dobbs would be a moderate help to Democrats this fall. I thought we were still going to lose the House, but I thought the abortion issue might help around the margins. I thought it might keep us the Senate or some Governors. Sure, most people are voting on the economy and not abortion, but I figured it might move some at the margins.

After tonight? I think it's going to be much more important. We are seeing near-Presidential turnout for otherwise sleepy primaries in August 2022. The 'No' vote is outrunning Biden by what, 20 points? And this is just for removing the Constitutional protection for abortion. This isn't about some total abortion ban nightmare bill. This is the bare-minimum pro-life proposal.

This might age terribly, but who cares: If this Midterm becomes an election about abortion, I don't see how Democrats can lose.

Credit where it is due: Kunce is making this a much closer race against Busch Valentine than I initially thought.

I could see him winning Cleaver's seat when he retires. If he were in a friendlier state his future would be even brighter.

For some reason I thought that district was majority/plurality Black. But yeah, he'd be a great candidate to face Jacob Turk in 2024, 2026, and beyond.

Wow, let’s go, uh, whoever the hell Don Samuels is!

He's a former City Council member and a bit of a washed up hack who was on the right wing of municipal politics, and was involved in an accident where a child drowned under his care. He ran for mayor in 2013 as the most conservative major candidate. He did once speak at my church in a roundtable thing (one of our most notable speakers) so he has that going for him, but my vote for him was quite reluctant.

Omar's up by 3 with over 85% in so she probably has it but considering how weak Samuels was this definitely puts a target on her back in 2024.

Omar under performs in Generals, she under performs in Primaries...what good is she?  I've never been much of a fan really.

She's also a combination of everything Republicans hate, and they use her with some success for turnout.

Rock County seems to be all in and Finstad did slightly underrun Trump 2020.

All I've learned in elections since 2020 is that % of vote in projections are always incredibly off.
