Labels
Economic: Market Socialist
Social: Liberal
Foreign: Soft Interventionist
Overall: Constitutional/Democratic Socialism

Social Policy
Abortion: Pro-choice
Same-sex Marriage: Fully support
Drugs: Legalize cannabis and psilocybin nationwide, but tax and regulate them in the same manner as alcohol and nicotine. Possession or consumption of other drugs should be punished with a small fine, probation and/or court-mandated rehabilitation. Continue to fight trafficking and domestic production.
Stem Cell Research: Support
Criminal Justice: Abolish private prisons and the death penalty. Pardon everyone convicted of drug possession or consumption. End the use of solitary confinement as a disciplinary measure. Automatically expunge the records of juvenile delinquents once they turn 18 and have finished their sentence. End cash bail. Set a federal minimum wage for prison labor at 50% of the federal minimum wage.
Slavery Reparations: Oppose direct cash payments to individuals, but support government programs and financial subsidies for Black-owned businesses and NGOs.
Prostitution: Legalize, but with strict and thorough regulation.
Free Speech: We must tolerate all opinions and beliefs, unless they’re used to express intolerance.
Education: Abolish standardized testing and school funding models based on property tax. Abolish charter schools, and ban tuition fees and entrance exams for private schools. Require teachers to have a Master’s degree at least. Abolish tuition fees for colleges, universities and trade schools, and forgive all outstanding student loan debt.
Censorship: Generally oppose, except for extreme cases such as child pornography or graphic real-life depictions of violence. The government should not be in the business of legislating morality.
Gun Control: Strongly oppose. Gun control is population control, not crime control. Obvious exceptions for machine guns, explosives and the like.
Immigration: Switch to a merit-based immigration system with provisions for keeping families together. Close down all immigrant detention facilities. Demilitarize the Mexican border. Offer amnesty to all undocumented immigrants who arrived as children.

Economic Policy
Minimum Wage: Immediately raise the federal minimum wage to $10, increasing it to $15 over a 5-year period. Index it to inflation after that.
Taxes: Abolish the lowest income tax bracket, and increase taxes on everyone making six figures or more, with the top bracket being set at 50%. Introduce a wealth tax of 1% for net worth over $10 million, and 2% over $1 billion. Increase corporate income tax, but lower income tax for small businesses and cooperatives. Keep the estate tax as it is.
Infrastructure: Dramatically increase funding for infrastructure projects. Build electrified high-speed rail routes in California, Texas, Florida and the Midwest. Upgrade America’s ancient power grid.
College: Abolish tuition fees for colleges, universities and trade schools, and forgive all outstanding student loan debt.
Healthcare: Expand Medicare into an opt-out public option. Also expand Medicare to include addiction and mental health counselling.
Welfare: Replace the existing patchwork system with a guaranteed minimum income (think Yang’s “Freedom Dividend”, but based on need). Enact stricter work requirements for young adults and households without children or dependents.
Unions: Enshrine the right to organize in the Constitution.
Environment: Implement a carbon tax once electric vehicles are affordable to the average consumer. Require all new construction to be LEED certified. Offer tax rebates for home insulation or off-grid utility projects. Ban the sale of new combustion engines as soon as it is practical. Move to 100% renewable energy, with particular focus on geothermal and nuclear energy.
Free Markets: Nationalize banking, insurance, utilities, natural resources and rail infrastructure. Establish marketing boards for cash crops, dairy products and commercial fisheries. Require corporations and franchised businesses to either implement democratic workplaces or cede a controlling share of the company to its employees. Small family-owned businesses would be exempt from this requirement.

Foreign Policy
Trade: Support free trade agreements, provided that the interests of the working class in all participating nations are respected.
NATO/Allies: With the growing threats posed by states such as Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, it’s more important than ever for NATO and other Western allied nations to stick together.
War and Diplomacy: Diplomatic solutions should always be the preferred avenue for resolving conflicts on the world stage. However, if there is credible evidence of human rights being violated on a systemic scale, military intervention is always justified.
Global Cooperation: Build and maintain strong ties with all nations that demonstrate the values of freedom, democracy and peace.
Military Spending: Reduce spending to about a quarter of what it is now.
