You know these lists are wonderful but don't rule out people who have been out of politics for a while because sometimes they just need time away to rest and get their bearings. Kirk Fordyce is a brilliant conservative and should be considered. I think there is a Mississippi Congressman named Pickering who is great also.
Ex-politicians, if they were still serving in 2006, still make my list (it may not seem like so long ago now, but by 2012, it will have been six years). Though you're obviously free to mention anybody else, and I thank you for doing so.
(Although apparently, Gov. Fordice died in 2004, so I would doubt he'd be making a run in 2012...even if he were alive, he'd be rapidly pushing 80).
