Louisiana has delayed its primary from April 4 to June 20.

This runs into an issue with the DNC rules (as they are currently written), however.  No first determining stage can take place after the 2nd Tuesday in June (June 9 [revised downward from June 16, which required DC to move its primary]).  Furthermore, the delegate selection process is required to be wrapped up by June 20; having the primary on the same day makes that impossibly tight.

The stated punishment for violating timing is that you lose 50% of your delegates (recall the MI/FL issues from 2008, though the DNC did soften its stance after then).

It seems highly unlikely that the DNC would actually follow through on this, though the easy way out (claiming that the Republicans did it against their will) isn't available as JBE was the one who postponed the primary.  A rules change seems highly likely.

Regardless, Louisiana almost certainly won't be getting an extra 10% delegates for moving later; it's possible they could take this opportunity to fix their math error that gave Louisiana an extra delegate.

Wyoming has cancelled the in-person portion of its caucuses and county conventions.

Voters may continue to vote by mail until March 20, or they may vote in person (by dropping off a mail ballot or filling out a new one) on March 28 and April 4.

Wyoming was the last of the old-school multi-tier convention states; the state convention delegates that were to be chosen at the caucuses would be the ones allocating and selecting the national convention delegates.  It is unclear at this time how delegate allocation and selection will play out in Wyoming; my bet for allocation is that they will switch over to a more Iowa/Nevada-style system, with SDEs, in order to incorporate the ranked-choice voting part of the ballot.

The Georgia primary, originally scheduled for March 24, has been pushed back to May 19.

I am hearing from one precinct in Illinois that there is no voting there due to a lack of election judges.  Unsure how widespread this is.

While I was looking forward to voting today, and wish I had taken the opportunity Charlie Vogt when I was near my County Board of Elections last week, I'm perfectly fine with this President. This President is, well, without precedent. Unless someone can correct me with evidence that we didn't delay elections during the 1918 influenza plague.

Remember, we're talking about delaying primaries 4 elections to be held in November. While it is less than optimal to have a delay in selection of candidates for the general election, considering the, again, unprecedented magnitude of this outbreak, it seems like a wise choice.

That said, while I have been generally favorable of Mike dewine handling this crisis, is attempting to cancel the election at literally the 11th and 3/4 hour was just abysmal. I realized it the situation with his pandemic is changing literally by the hour and he may not have received firm advice to cancel from his health professionals until shortly before the decision, but even then it was quite the klusterfuk.

Even more concerning is the very strong implication that Dwayne was ready to say screw the judges refusal to Grant a temporary restraining order delaying the election, he was going to unilaterally do so himself with or without judicial branch approval. That is extremely troubling, and is not mitigated by the severity of this crisis

The peak of the Spanish Flu was October/November 1918.  The midterm elections were famously held on schedule nationwide on Tuesday, November 5, 1918.*  (Things might have gone a bit differently if they had been delayed, considering the armistice happened only 6 days later.)

Obviously we've got 100 years more experience with pandemics, and wartime considerations played a role, but no, they did not delay elections due to the Spanish flu (which was a lot worse than this).

[*Maine, as was typical back then, held its elections in early September.]

Alaska has cancelled the in-person portion of its April 4 party-run primary, and has switched to an all-mail system.  As the original window for that mail-in voting was to have closed yesterday, they've extended it considerably; ballots must now be received by the AK Democratic Party by April 10.  Accordingly, results will not be announced until April 11.

Does anyone have a comparison of delegates at stake on June 2nd, compared to delegates that were at stake on Super Tuesday? Obviously Super Tuesday had more because of California, Texas, Virginia, North Carolina and Massachusetts - but I’d have to think the comparison is somewhat close...

There were 1169 delegates up for grabs on Super Tuesday.

Depending on whether Ohio actually goes on June 2 and whether the states that moved to June 2 get timing/cluster bonuses accordingly, June 2 will have somewhere between 498 and 701 delegates.

Hawaii has cancelled the in-person portion of its party-run primary and has sent out another wave of ballots (presumably to people who recently registered or updated their address with the state).

It is unclear exactly what the deadline for getting ballots to the Hawaii Democratic Party is; I am guessing that they must be postmarked by April 4.  As a result, especially given the ranked-choice nature of the balloting, I would not expect especially timely results out of Hawaii next week.

Do we know when exactly Wyoming, Alaska, and Hawaii are going to report results?

Alaska should report on April 11.

Wyoming has extended its deadline for ballots to be received to April 17; it seems likely they'd report results on Saturday, April 18.

Hawaii has extended their deadline for ballots to be received to May 22(!); their results will be reported on May 23.

The Puerto Rico Primary (that had been rescheduled for April 26) has now been postponed indefinitely.
