A Biden-Warren ticket would actually be exciting. I hope team Biden is at least considering it.

On paper, Klobuchar makes the most sense. Her and Biden seemingly get along well both personally and politically. She shores up a potential weak spot electorally, and also has Midwestern appeal. But it seems like alot of people on the left actively dislike her and I worry a Klobuchar pick could depress turnout on the left even more.

I've seen mention of the idea that Biden's new podcast is a way for him to test his compatibility with potential VP picks. The other day he had Gov. Whitmer on. Looks like Klobuchar is up next:

They have pretty good chemistry. Biden actually laughed at one of Klobuchar's joke.

Edit: He laughed at her second joke too.

While it might turn some never Trumpers off, democrats love Warren. She could definitely help with the supposed enthusiasm gap.

Do they though?

Poll's throughout the primary usually had Warren with the highest favorbility numbers among democrats.

While it's possible the NY Post article is right, we also recently got an article from them saying Klobuchar was the presumptive vp pick. So take it with a grain of salt.

Biden also gave Klobuchar a shout out the other day about her being the reason he won the Minnesota primary. I think Biden's heart will want to pick Klobuchar, bit his head will win out and he'll end up picking Harris.

I couldn't tell you how excited I'd be if Klobuchar got picked to be VP. But even I know Harris is the better option.

But also, I feel like I should explain to some of you why Klobuchar is at the top of the VP list in the first place.

Firstly, Biden believes Klobuchar's endorsement was the main reason he won the Minnesota Primary. Biden has brought this up repeatedly, which means he was obviously impressed by Klobuchar's sway in her home state. Compare that to Warren, who came in third in Massachusetts, or Harris, who was polling in forth in California before she dropped out.

Then there is the fact that both Biden and Klobuchar personally get along. Biden actually finds Klobuchar's jokes funny. And I'm sure Biden appreciated Klobuchar bringing up his cancer research charity during the debates.

Finally, their platforms were almost identical during the primary.

Biden wants someone "simpatico" with him and Klobuchar is a perfect fit.

Klobuchar did poorly in the Midwestern state of Iowa despite all of NE Iowa being under a Minnesotan media market. My bets are on Kamala Harris.

I'd say Klobuchar did better than expected in a crowded field actually. And Biden considers her endorsement the reason he won the Minnesota primary.

Before people overreact, we know multiple women have gotten to this stage in the VP selection process.

Twitter is in absolute meltdown over the news Klobuchar is being considered. But what else is new.

There's also a reason you vet multiple candidates. If Biden wants person A to be his VP but the vetting process brings a lot of damaging or embarrassing stuff up, they can quickly move onto candidate B.

I think Val Demings would actually be a pretty exciting pick.

You're from FL, do you think she would help Biden's election prospects?

I think she'd help with turnout among people of color. But if your asking me if she's a well known figure outside of Orlando, I'd have to say no.

The CBS article that sent Twitter into a frenzy notes Klobuchar is one of several women currently being vetted.

But Twitter never misses a chance to have a full blown meltdown over a headline.

The more I hear from Demings the more I like her she is going up on the people I would like to see as Biden's VP, she truly is an inspirational woman.

Young African Americans still wouldn’t be too keen on a literal cop being on the ticket. Well, young Americans period probably.

It really depends on her record. I'm not familiar with her time as the Orlando police chief, but if she pushed for reforms than I'd say being a literal cop would be an asset.

Dumb question from a white guy: How appealing would a Warren VP pick be to communities of color and black and brown party leaders?

Raimondo is young and has executive experience. That said, she has routinely been one of the most unpopular governors in the country. If Biden wanted someone with executive experience whose not Whitmer, Hassan or Lujan Grisham seem like better options.

It does feel like the moment to choose a woman of color. Warren wouldn't be a tone deaf choice like some have implied, but it would feel like a missed opportunity and it would disappoint alot of people.

Karen Bass would be a great pick actually. Surprised her name is just coming up now.
