I should probably point out that at first glance next week doesn't look great either, schedule wise.

Miami (FL)/Texas A&M is far and away the best game on the schedule.

LOL what? BYU Baylor? Bama texas? UK vs UF? Tenn Pitt?

..at first glance next week doesn't look great either...

Nice to see that the refs aren't letting the Alabama DBs get away with murder, for once.

Texas leads Alabama 13-10 with 6 minutes left in the third quarter, and really it should be by more.

It's going to be one of those years, isn't it?

Wisconsin, which everyone picked, just lost at home to Washington State.  Meanwhile, #6 Texas A&M is on the verge of losing at home to Appalachian State.

It's still early, but Georgia Southern is beating Nebraska 14-7.

Will Scott Frost be fired if Nebraska loses this one?

If they do lose, you might finally be right on one of those predictions. Smiley

Damn, I was gonna pick Kansas and talked myself out of it at the last second. Lance Leipold is a great coach.

It's not over.  West Virginia just tied it with 35 seconds left.  But certainly a surprising performance from Kansas.

Weird; ESPN is showing at 42-42 end of 4th.  But I've seen them make mistakes before.

When was the last time Kansas won a road conference game?

EDIT: ESPN's scoreboard is running way behind, obviously.

I don't think I did very well on the pick-em this week...

The laptop with the spreadsheet has been put to bed, but IIRC you were about 3 games off the lead last time I checked.

WEEK 2 RESULTS

A wild Saturday resulted in a 3-way tie between Harry, Illiniwek, and me at 18-7.  Dereich and Storr were a game behind.  The full results:

18 GeorgiaModerate, Harry, Illiniwek
17 Dereich, Storr
16 ExtremeRepublican, Grumps, Terry
15 CalamityBlue, Donerail, JGibson, NY Express
13 Thomas D

There were four unanimous picks:

Alabama-Texas
Arkansas-South Carolina
Wisconsin-Washington State (wrong)
Oklahoma State-Arizona State

And five picks with a single dissenter:

Northwestern-Duke (dissenter was right)
Western Michigan-Ball State
West Virginia-Kansas (dissenter was right)
East Carolina-Old Dominion
USC-Stanford (*cough* homer *cough*)

Overall, the shared win moved Harry into a tie for first with Dereich.  Year to date (50 games):

36 Dereich, Harry
35 Illiniwek, Storr
34 ExtremeRepublican, GeorgiaModerate
33 Terry
31 JGibson
30 CalamityBlue, NY Express
29 Donerail
28 Grumps
27 Thomas D
12 Orwell

As always, if you think there's a mistake in your score, let me know.

Oklahoma (Why is this here? Nebraska was already heavy underdogs, and their situation is even worse after firing Scott Frost. I would have gone with Old Dominion at Virginia instead.)

Bruh...you talk about Nebraska still being prestigious but ignore the fact that this used to be a huge rivalry? Sad!

Indeed, Oklahoma-Nebraska used to be the game of the year in the Big 8, and one of the top games nationally.  I still remember the 1971 "Game of the Century" between the #1 Huskers and #2 Sooners, one of the greatest games I've ever seen.

There's a big one on AAD (see post from Adam Griffin here) so it seemed unnecessary to have a separate one here.

So much for Air Force being a NY6 contender.

Honestly though, I should have remembered to pick the Craig Bohl team at home. My slip-up there.

Grumps was the only one to pick Wyoming.
