New AP Poll out:

1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Michigan
4. Tennessee
5. Clemson
6. Alabama
7. Ole Miss
8. TCU
9. Oregon'
10. UCLA
11. Oklahoma State
12. USC
13. Wake Forest
14. Syracuse
15. Utah
16. Penn State
17. Kansas State
18. Kentucky
19. Cincinnati

That's the coaches poll.  Michigan and Tennessee are swapped in the AP poll.

ESPN seems to only have the coaches poll listed on their site at the moment then.

Are you looking at https://www.espn.com/college-football/rankings ?  If so, try refreshing your browser.  I see both polls there.

Adding picks of Florida Atlantic and UTEP.

I can't figure out what the third missing game is. If you'd tell me, that would be appreciated.

That's a couple of interesting picks.  They're playing each other. Smiley

The three games are Ole Miss-LSU, FAU-UTEP, and Southern Miss-Texas State.  If you'd copy the original list and bold your winners instead of just stating them, this would happen less often.

Upset Alert!!!

With just over four minutes to go in the first half, #14 Syracuse leads #5 Clemson 14-7.

21-10 at halftime.  Syracuse looks really good, hard as that may be to believe. Smiley

WEEK 8 RESULTS

There's another first-time winner this week as ultraviolet finished at 19-6, a game ahead of Grumps and Harry.  Full results:

19 ultraviolet
18 Grumps, Harry
16 Donerail, Terry
15 Dereich, GeorgiaModerate, Illiniwek
14 ExtremeR, Thomas D

There were two unanimous picks (Clemson over Syracuse and TCU over Kansas State) and both were correct.  There were three games with a single dissenter:

Ball State-Eastern Michigan (dissenter was right)
Tulane-Memphis
Wyoming-Utah State

The overall standings are getting very tight at the top.  I'm still in the lead, but Dereich, Harry, and Illiniwek are just a game back with Terry a game behind them.  Year to date (200 games):

133 GeorgiaModerate
132 Dereich, Harry, Illiniwek
131 Terry
125 ExtremeRepublican
123 Donerail
119 Grumps
117 CalamityBlue
116 NY Express

Cincinnati (With Coastal Carolina's loss two weeks ago, the Bearcats are the overwhelming favorites to make it back to the New Year's Six)

I think Tulane will have something to say about it.

NC State scores 19 unanswered points to turn back Virgina Tech's upset bid 22-21.
Another jinx brought to you by NYE

That does seem to be my MO this season.

I'm feeling very happy that you picked Tennessee to beat Georgia next week.

Tight race in the pick'em so far.  Donerail and ER are 12-5, followed by a bunch of people at 11-6.

Utah-Washington State (two players didn't get picks in for this one)
TCU-West Virginia
Ohio State-Penn State
Georgia-Florida
South Carolina-Missouri (wrong)

Tennessee vs. Georgia will be the 25th time the AP #1 and #2 teams have met in a regular season game, and the 53rd time including postseason games.

The Michigan player got his ass beat learned not to f around or there’d be consequences.

The MSU players involved are the ones who will see some consequences.  They've been suspended and the police are investigating with the possibility of criminal charges being filed.

Some really tough games this week.  I'd like to thank Terry for NOT including UMass-Uconn this year.

Air Force vs Army
#19 Tulane @ Tulsa
Kentucky @ Missouri
Florida @ Texas A&M
Iowa @ Purdue
Georgia Tech @ Virginia Tech
South Florida @ Temple - I hate to pick a 1-7 team on the road, but Temple is just awful.
Marshall @ Old Dominion
Baylor @ Oklahoma
Middle Tennessee @ Louisiana Tech
#2 Tennessee @ #1 Georgia - My wife refuses to watch this or any other game involving Tennessee.  She still has PTSD from the game where they beat us on a last-second Hail Mary a few years ago.
#18 Oklahoma State @ Kansas
#22 Syracuse @ Pittsburgh - Not sure why Pitt is favored in this one.
#25 UCF @ Memphis
Washington State @ Stanford
West Virginia @ Iowa State
Troy @ Louisiana
#6 Alabama @ #15 LSU
Texas @ #13 Kansas State
UNLV @ San Diego State
Houston @ SMU
#5 Clemson @ Notre Dame
James Madison @ Louisville
Florida State @ Miami (FL)
#20 Wake Forest @ #21 NC State

This may be the first time I've ever picked more road than home teams.

That may be the best punt I've ever seen.  The UGA punter just made a 75-yard coffin-corner kick that rolled out at the Tennessee 1.

Total cop-out by replay officials on what looked like a clear safety against Tennessee, but they let the call stand that it was advanced just out of the end zone.

EDIT: Karma strikes!  After the Tennessee punt, UGA uncorked a TD pass on the first play from scrimmage.

SMU leads Houston 77-63, breaking the D1 total points record (and more than the total of their last basketball game!)
