Stanford ran off 23 straight points in the second half to overcome a big deficit and win at Washington State, 62-57.  (Hi, Donerail!)

Oregon upset #3 UCLA last night 84-81 in Overtime.

I was up late last night and caught the last couple minutes of regulation.  Oregon was up by 6 with the ball with 30 seconds to play but completely imploded, allowing UCLA to tie the game.  I was sure the Ducks were going to lose in OT and was surprised to see the actual result this morning.

Texas Tech follows up its streak of wins over Kansas, Baylor, and Oklahoma State...by losing to Kansas State by 11.

Also, #18 Kentucky destroyed #22 Tennessee 107-79.

That's 107 points against the #6 defense in the country (per Kenpom).  Impressive.

#12 LSU led Arkansas 56-48 with 9 minutes left but scored only 2 points the rest of the way, losing 65-58.

No pick.  Oddly, that's the second week in a row you've done that with a St. John's game.  Do you have something against them? Wink

WEEK 10 RESULTS

COVID's effect on the schedule continued to recede, as we only lost 2 out of 40 games this week.  Illinwek took first place at 25-13, a game ahead of NYE.  Full results:

25 Illiniwek
24 NYE
23 Pessimistic Antineutrino
21 GeorgiaModerate
20 JGibson

Overall, the round-robin at the top continues as PA moved in front by two games.  Year to date (219 games):

149 Pessimistic Antineutrino
147 GeorgiaModerate
145 Illiniwek
130 NYE
87 JGibson

An oddity in this week's AP poll: the #1 team did not receive the most first-place votes, by a significant margin.  Gonzaga got 25 first-place votes to 36 for #2 Auburn, but edged out the Tigers in total points 1486-1482.

IMO Auburn has a slightly better resume, and I would have put them first if I were an AP voter.

A couple of shockers last night.

Kansas State stunned #23 Texas 66-65, and Florida State might have gotten the signature win they needed to be part of the NCAA Tournament bubble conversation, as they stunned #6 Duke 79-78 in Overtime.

Also, #15 Iowa State is falling apart in the Big Twelve, losing 72-60 to #18 Texas Tech.

Trivia: Florida State has now won their last thirteen OT games (going back over four years), which is an all-time NCAA record.

I'm assuming that's a UNC pick and you just hit the wrong button.

Memphis is playing so badly it makes my eyes hurt.  SMU leads 16-2 with 11 minutes left in the first half.

Illinois (without Kofi) lost at Maryland, 81-65, so the winner of tonight's Michigan State-Wisconsin game will be in sole first place in the Big Ten.

Auburn cements its status as the top team in the SEC (and IMO the country) with an 80-71 win over Kentucky.

UT-Arlington, which had been mentioned as a possible candidate for the Missouri Valley, will move to the WAC instead.

Boise State beat San Diego State 42-37 last night, which might be the lowest-scoring D1 game of the season so far.

Tulsa running away with things against Memphis, 46-33 with under a minute to go in the first half.

I am so over Memphis.  Most disappointing team in years.
