The Democrats must be prepared in case they are actually planning to storm the Capitol during the electoral vote counting and force Congress to reject all of Biden's electors at gunpoint. Either the Democrats need to organize a massive counter-protest or make sure that the Capitol is absolutely secure.

Come in off the ledge.

This is real idiocy.  Perdue won't be in the Senate on Jan. 6, regardless of how the runoff turns out.  His current term ends on Jan. 3, so the seat will be vacant between then and the time the runoff results are certified, which won't happen until well after Jan. 6.

(Loeffler's situation is different -- since she's filling Johnny Isakson's term, which expires in 2022, she'll remain in office through that period.)

Twitter needs to ban this fascist traitor. Spreading so much fake news and Russian disinformation is dangerous.

It'd be pretty hilarious if he was banned on January 21, 2021.

I predict it will happen within a month of his leaving office.

The question is, why don't Dems have any balls.  They need to not seat certain traitors in the house.  What election Democrats need to understand is that we elect them to do their job.  If they are too chicken**** to do it, retire and let someone who will fight for their constituents get elected.

No. No. No. Refusing to seat duly elected representatives, no matter how awful, just because you have the power to do so is exactly what the Trumpists want to do to Biden. It won't work for them because a large majority of the country, including Republican politicians and judges, recognize that it's not a legitimate use of their authority. But if Democrats start doing the same thing, it legitimizes that tactic for both sides to do it. I really doubt you'd like the place where that leads.

Even Fox News has run clarifications on the Smartmatic claims, and they have the resources to withstand a protracted lawsuit that could easily result in a big award against them.  Newsmax (or OANN) doesn't have the same kind of resources, and could be put out of business if they don't back down quickly.

When will Trump work out that judges are not meant to be personally loyal to him?

*raises hand* I know this one!

Never.

Trump supporters asked a data scientist to analyze Nevada voting data for fraud; he found none.

This is a long and detailed but quite readable and interesting (for data geeks) analysis of Nevada voting data in the 2020 election.

OMG, they're trying to sue the Electoral College?  Every lawyer involved in this should not only be disbarred, but have their law degrees revoked.

The whole thread has me LOL.  I particularly liked this line: "The Amistad Project of the Thomas More Society has the constitutional literacy of a thrice-concussed hummingbird."

Rasmussen Reports have been openly Trump hacks for a while, but now they have truly lost their minds.  Read the whole thread:

Nah, this is a ridiculous scenario. The wording of the 12th Amendment leaves the VP no discretion:

Quote
The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted.

If Pence refused to open some or all of the certificates, I'm sure there would be an emergency appeal to SCOTUS and they would require him to do so.  I don't think they'd duck it in order to avoid another Bush v. Gore; this situation would be an open-and-shut Constitutional question.

I just don't get why people bother to spread lies such as the above that are easily debunked by 30 seconds of Google searching.  I know that some people distrust the news media, but you can get the information directly from primary sources -- in this case the Pennsylvania Department of State:

Quote
Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar reported today that turnout in the Nov. 3 election set an apparent record, exceeding turnout in every presidential election since at least 1960, with more than 6.9 million Pennsylvanians voting by mail ballot or in person at the polls.
...
Pennsylvania broke another record in October when voter registration topped 9 million for the first time.

https://www.media.pa.gov/pages/state-details.aspx?newsid=434

6.9 million is less than 9 million.  Considerably less, in fact.

Senator Ben Sasse has posted a long but excellent statement on the election at https://www.facebook.com/709959352435346/posts/3517705981660655/.  Very much worth reading the whole thing.  From the conclusion:

Quote
The president and his allies are playing with fire. They have been asking – first the courts, then state legislatures, now the Congress – to overturn the results of a presidential election. They have unsuccessfully called on judges and are now calling on federal officeholders to invalidate millions and millions of votes. If you make big claims, you had better have the evidence. But the president doesn’t and neither do the institutional arsonist members of Congress who will object to the Electoral College vote.

Let’s be clear what is happening here: We have a bunch of ambitious politicians who think there’s a quick way to tap into the president’s populist base without doing any real, long-term damage. But they’re wrong – and this issue is bigger than anyone’s personal ambitions. Adults don’t point a loaded gun at the heart of legitimate self-government.

According to Jake Tapper, "at least" 140 House Republicans will vote against the election results on January 6th:

Don’t seat em

They'll already be seated. Also, 20+ Dems did the same thing in 2004.

The vote in 2005 was 31-267 in the House. That's a far, far different story than the 140+ the Republicans are promising right now. Back in 2005 the stuff about Ken Blackwell rigging the election in Ohio with Diebold was relegated to the far left, while right now Trump's nonsense has become the mainstream of the Republican party.

So whether you should try to unseat objectors, or not, depends on how many there are? Huh

You can't "unseat" a Representative who's already been seated.  There's no such process, so it's pointless to talk about.  A sitting member can be expelled for cause, which requires a 2/3 vote of the chamber, and is extremely rare (it's happened to a total of five members, three of them for defecting to the Confederacy).

It's clear that Lin Wood's role is to make Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell look sane by comparison.
