I think Democrats would gain a lot of from trying to find white athletes (especially baseball players and NFL QBs) to support the party.
Professional sports is a unionized entertainment industry - by all logic they should be Democrats.
The vast majority of athletes are Democrats from memory the obvious ones of course, Lebron, Kerr, Popovich, Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving, Joe Burrow has been expousing some pretty progressive views on twitter lately as well.
Lol those are all NBA players except Burrow. They tend to be more Democratic leaning, but other sports tend to be mostly Republican, which is unsurprising with the high amount of military and corporate affiliations for sponsorships. Off the top of my head, Peyton Manning, Curt Schilling, Kraft/Bellichick, Brett Favre, Herschel Walker, John Rocker of course, Jeremy Roenick, pretty much all PGA/NASCAR (I think I read that David Duval was the only registered Democrat on the entire Tour one year).
I think these days BLM has opened a lot of eyes, though. My team's quarterback, Carson Wentz, has issued some very thoughtful statements in support of his black teammates, and he's a good old boy from North Dakota who hunts. More cultural exposure and cohesiveness is hopefully changing things for the better.
