Veterans' Bureau Scandal. The head of the agency intended to assist ex-servicmen became embroiled in corrupt practices and served time in federal prison.
And Harding committed what high crime or misdemeanor in this scandal?

And Harding committed what high crime or misdemeanor in this scandal?

YOu have listed a bunch of real scandals involving government officials but I see nothing for which a president  could be impeached

Out of all of those who think Harding would not have been impeached, do you all think Harding would have been reelected? Why or why not?

Easily win.  He was popular, the country was doing well, the Dems were not.

Scandals were much more accepted and easier hid back then.

Oh no, quite the opposite.

The Harding scandal list includes
1.  corruption in the VA,
2.  allegations of corruption in the Justice Department
3.  corrupt oversight of federal property and
4. questionable connections between US officials and energy companies.
These scandals were all investigated at the time and several officials served time in prison.

In the Bush administration there were:
1.  corruption in the VA,
2.  allegations of corruption in the Justice Department
3.  corrupt oversight of federal property and
4. questionable connections between US officials and energy companies
Yet no serious invesrtigations or jail time.

The Teapot Dome Scandal was the largest one, I think.

Why do you think that?
