I'm not going to vote in this ridiculous poll. I am certainly glad that I don't call myself "Christian".
It seems like half of Christians believe, for whatever reason, that this behavior is "sinful".
The anti-gay sentiment at this site is rather insane, of course.

So, in the minds of some so called "Christians", this is sinful, but only if your a "Christian". The question of the poll strongly implies this obviously. So, if you like this activity it is strongly recommended that you don't be a Christian.

Meanwhile Trump, popular among these kinds of "Christians" can kill, lie, cheat, steal and have more normal intimacy with a porn star and cover it up, and that's all right with them.

edit: and of course, in the minds of some Christians, sex itself is "original sin". (that was the message of the movie, "Inherit the Wind") So, if "Christians" want to be consistent they would stop having children, which would do wonders for the overpopulation problem.

Wow

The OP explicitly states "regardless of the sex of participants".

No one said that this is sinful only if you are a Christian.
The thread title says "Christians only" because the question is directed only to Christians, not because it is implied that this behaviour is sinful only when committed by Christians.

There is no proof that the people who voted Yes like Trump? Also when did Trump kill?

Inherit The Wind is a film that uses a fictionalized version of the Scopes Monkey Trial as a metaphor to condemn McCarthyism. What does it have to do with sex? And I don't see Christians saying that procreative sex is bad or sinful.

To be fair, "actually all sex is kinda bad" is an attested, and in some eras has been a widespread, position in Christian moral theology. It's just not currently prevalent in any otherwise orthodox denomination.

Ah I understand. However that is not very relevant to tmc's post.
I also forgot to say that there is a lot to qualm about "overpopulation problem".

I mean tcumsa's dirge aside, this is a ridiculous poll and flat out offensive to people to whom it forms part of their own sex life, that it even gets asked as a semi serious question. I'm admittedly in a pissy mood for other reasons today but I'm sick of these sorts of judgement polls on this board in particular.

I mean I am not a fan of these polls either, but they are legitimate questions about existing religious beliefs? You can argue that said religious beliefs are inherently offensive but that's broader than the poll per se.

Well, the reason it's a semi-serious question is because religious leaders have made it so. Complain to them, not me. I don't think it should be an issue either, but sadly I'm not able to control those things. Given that, I don't see what's wrong with polling Atlas on a topic like this that has often proved divisive among Christians.

Because you can sound like your intention is to ignite flames, like a guy who brings up some painful past episode at a dinner with friends just to see them have a row.

As I said, these are legitimate questions, but I think I agree with afleitch that you could, ahem, refrain your curiosity.

Well any sort of topic started on a political forum might be expected to ignite a debate, especially one that involves religion and strongly-held personal beliefs. But the fact is there hasn't even been much in this thread; there seems to be a general agreement among those who have posted in it. And I wouldn't say it's a past episode either; despite gay marriage being legalized 5 years ago many denominations like the Catholics and lots of evangelicals remain opposed to homosexuality. But if people would prefer that I delete the thread I'll gladly do so.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but "past episode" was strictly referring to my metaphor. I wasn't implying that the scope of the poll is an issue of the past.
Also it's obvious that every topic started will ignite a debate, but there are debates and debates. As Nathan said, the way you framed this is not conducive to a good discussion (and indeed, this thread is kind of a sh**tshow).

You know a thread has gone off the rails when my comment is the least controversial remark in it.

I laughed out loud at this.

But yeah an R&P thread where Dule's comment is the least controversial remark = Hell has officially frozen over
