In America, from most freedom to least freedom:

1970s
1980s
2010s
1990s
2000s
1960s
1950s

In Europe, they had less freedom in the 2010s than in the 1990s and 2000s, and perhaps less than in the 1950s and 1960s.

What makes you think that European teenagers had less freedom in 2010s than in the two previous decades but that for American teenagers is the opposite?

A lot of countries in Europe tightened their alcohol laws in the late 00s while in America schools began to loosen up in 2014.

Ah. I interpreted freedom more in terms of parents' rules than in terms of official laws.

It’s much harder to objectively determine parental freedom norms than it is to determine official laws.

Well that is very true, which is also why I was not going to give an answer.
