Friday, March 5th, 2021 : The Primary for the Delaware Special Senate Election takes place. In the Republican Field, State Representative W. Shannon Morris defeated Businesswoman and 2020 Nominee for U.S. Senate Lauren Witzke 58-42. However, in the Democratic Primary, Senator Kathy Jennings lost the nomination to Justice Democrat endorsement Dover Activist, U.S. Air Force Veteran, and 2018 Candidate for Senate Kerri Evelyn Harris in a 51.3-48.7 close race, Despite Delaware's strong Democrat lean, Harris is unpopular with most across the state, thinking that him being supported by the Justice Democrats closely aligns him with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The Republicans have been quick to pounce on this, but polls show Morris trailing 53-44.
