Haven't done the pick 'em but jumping in to say Rock Chalk, Jayhawk! It has been a miserable past 13 years as a Jayhawk fan, glad to see the team finally enjoying some success. We have a winner in Coach Leipold, hopefully we can rework his contract to ensure he stays in Lawrence a long time. Even an above-average football team would put us close to Top 10 in terms of athletic programs, making us impossible to overlook with the constant realignment talks.

You might like this article, especially the section on Kansas (41 years?)

Very cool, thanks for sharing! I had seen it mentioned of the Blue Blood success this season, but not this particular piece. The KU bit isn't surprising. The last 13 years have been a disaster, but before that we were decently average, making a bowl game every couple of years. I think it is a greater testament to how consistent our basketball program has been over the past few decades!! All of the others have definitely had off years, we really haven't. KU has never even been a bubble team in the entire time I've been alive.

Colorado and Nebraska are old Big 12 rivals, I would be surprised if they pursued Frost as a Nebraska album who flopped miserably there. IMO they should go for Eric Bieniemy (Chiefs OC and CU alum) again; he reportedly turned down the offer a couple years ago, but given that he hasn't landed an NFL HC gig yet, he may be more open to it now.

Hoping and praying we can lock down Leipold. I felt confident we could keep him from going to Nebraska, but Wisconsin will be a tempting offer for him I'm sure...

Kansas is bowl eligible! Great time to be a Jayhawk, hopefully we can figure out a way to keep Coach Leipold here for the long haul. Already seeing a financial investment and also an uptick in recruiting, this won't be a one-year fluke.

Leipold might well get the job at any one of Nebraska/Wisconsin/Auburn (I'd say Wisconsin would be most likely, followed by Nebraska. Auburn probably is looking at bigger names than Leipold).
Some reports have indicated Nebraska and Wisconsin might be leaning towards naming their interims to head coach. I haven't seen him much on Auburn lists, but I'm not sure how his style would fit in the SEC. Definitely going to spend the rest of the season rooting for Wisconsin and Nebraska though so that Joseph/Leonhard are able to gain enough booster support to get the job!!

Iowa is another concern - the upper-tier Big 10 schools are definitely the biggest threat at nabbing him from us. Iowa probably won't fire Ferentz but I could see him getting pushed into retirement in the next year or two.
